Inner Peace, the New Success
In 2007 I landed in Ashland, Oregon from Los Angeles, California. Prior to that, I attended a women’s college on the East Coast before heading out West towards a fresh optimism; in search of a different part of myself. I spent by childhood in the Pacific Northwest and was familiar with its particular kind of wild.
It was a sudden shift in perspective - a desire to both escape and engage that brought me to a stunning small Oregon mountain town between the Siskiyou and Cascade mountains. Satisfaction in my life at the time dwindled, rather collapsed, because suddenly my work + personal life was no longer relevant to the person I was becoming. A value shift was happening inside of me. So, I re-ordered my priorities around a different kind of FULFILLMENT.
It was a move towards brightness and hope. In hindsight it was a time when I was perfectly undone. It is those things that have “broken me” that have gotten me in touch with the real version of myself. Yes, that raw and vulnerable state that ultimately inspires true change. It came clear how possible it is for us to transform our hearts. My passion for awakening of mind, heart and body led me on a truth seeking path.
I made a decision to live near family, spend more time in the outdoors (give me mountains to trail blaze + ski!), to learn about plant science, permaculture, herbal medicine and earth-based rituals. I started to grow my own food and save seeds. I began to chant and meditate in the mornings, developed a yoga practice, started to live more of an organic and zero-waste lifestyle. A deeper exploration of my inner life and into the traditions of my cultural background was in full force. My soul craved an expansion of personal awareness and cultivation of my spiritual side.
TO SUPPORT AN INDIVIDUAL’S BEST LIFE AND ULTIMATE WORK IN THE WORLD, A TRUE ILLUMINATION OF THEIR SOUL, IS INCREDIBLY FULFILLING.
I have so much gratitude for all of the luminaries, scholars, social healers, thought leaders, spiritual teachers, activists, philanthropists, inventors, economists, poets, linguists, peacemakers, climate scientists, farmers, musicians and storytellers that have been mentors and/or of influence in my life.
As a meditation practitioner, and soon-to-be certified mindfulness meditation teacher (Jack Kornfield & Tara Brach are my teachers), I am devoted to spreading the seeds of wisdom and compassion. I strive to help others develop greater courage, to take refuge in their own inner landscape, to live mindfully. INNER PEACE IS THE NEW SUCCESS. I VALUE BEING THERE FOR OTHERS, as we evolve and live authentically.
